Founded on excitement to help clients and a commitment to personalised service, Belès trade marks has grown from humble beginnings in Perth, Western Australia, to become a trusted name in trade mark registration and brand protection internationally. Our journey began in 2015, and since then, we’ve supported businesses across a wide range of industries to protect their intellectual property in Australia and internationally.
Our Story
From Highgate beginnings to global partnerships.
2015: Our founder, Stephanie, began working on trade marks from her spare room in Highgate for her friend, Steven Schapera. Prontaguerra Ltd, a UK-based company, became our first client and laid the foundation for what Belès would become.
2018: Inspired by a name from Prontaguerra Ltd’s first shortlist of trade marks, ‘Belès’, the business was officially named and trade marked. Belès was said to be an Eritrean reference to prickly pear oil (the key ingredient in Prontaguerra Ltd’s haircare range).
Belès evolved into Belès Pty Ltd, trading as Belès trade marks, with a growing list of clients across diverse industries and the globe.

| 2018 | Adopted 'Belès' as our business name. This was our favourite name from our first client’s shortlist of trade marks in 2015. We had their blessing of course! |
| 2023-2025 | Method Planning joined our client base and we celebrate ten years since our first trade mark filing. |

Meet Stephanie
“I love taking the leg-work out of the trade mark registration process for my clients.
I have long-standing client relationships. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know their businesses and the industries they work with whilst looking after their trade mark requirements.
I hold a Graduate Diploma in Law and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The College of Law in London and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia. My arts degree majors are French, Italian and Fine Arts History & Theory.
I was admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2008 and as a lawyer in Western Australia in 2016.
I was born and bred in Perth, Western Australia. After a short stint in Sydney following the completion of my arts degree, I moved to London to pursue my ambition of working in the arts industry.
My first job in London was at Dewynters, a live entertainment advertising agency in the West End of London. I then worked at the Royal Academy of Arts and English National Opera in Marketing & PR and Education & Outreach roles.
Following my legal studies, I commenced my legal training at a high street firm in London working in conveyancing and Wills & Probate, with a view to continuing to work within the creative industries.
I completed my legal training at a Media & Entertainment law firm in Soho, central London, where I worked with bands, record companies, artists, band managers and photographers in the litigation team.
I returned to Perth in 2010 and I have been looking after my lovely clients since 2015. I love working with companies across the globe.”
